Community Spirit Group

The Community Spirit Group was established by Mavesyn Ridware Parish Council in early 2023. The Group has the following aims:

• Support positive environmental change within the Parish;

• Coordinate the activities of our existing and wonderful voluntary groups and organisations;

• Reduce issues of social isolation through community inclusion; and

• Foster a sense of community spirit and pride in our communities.

The Community Spirit Working Group meets regularly, and we encourage more parishioners to come along and get involved. The meetings are informal and friendly and the greater the number of volunteers, the more we can achieve within the community.

The working group coordinates a number of events and initiatives across the Parish.

Community Garden

Plans are in hand to deliver a new community garden at the Village Hall.

Tidy Ups

Over the year a number of ‘tidy ups’ are organised to ensure our parish is looking its best including the Big Spring Clean and Autumn Tidy Up. These can include managing and maintaining our footpaths and streets, to planting summer and winter flowers and litter picking.

Community Support Initiative

Each year a group of volunteers calls on the over 80’s in the village to wish them a Merry Christmas. Through support from the Rotary Club boxes of biscuits were delivered with contact cards to provide any assistance necessary throughout the year.

If you have any ideas for future events or projects please come along to one of the Community Spirit Working Group meetings or contact the council.
